Metal welding is the process of permanently joining two metal parts by melting and solidifying them. There are several types of welding, each adapted to specific applications.

LaserSeven highlights MMA, MAG, and TIG welding technologies within our service offerings, providing preferred solutions for our clients.

  • Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding : The electrode used in manual arc welding is coated with a layer of powdered material called flux. This coating has several functions, including creating a protective gas, stabilizing the electric arc, forming a protective slag and contributing filler materials to the weld bead. Manual arc welding is polyvalent and can be used to weld different types of metal, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, etc..
Finishing options: grinding, brushing and stainless steel cleaning.
  • Metal Inert Gas/Metal Active Gas (MIG/MAG) arc welding : In MIG/MAG, a continuous wire electrode is fed through a welding torch. For MIG, an inert gas is used as the shielding gas, while for MAG, an active gas or gas mixture is used. This technology is commonly used in industry for mass production, automotive construction, structural steelwork and other applications where high productivity is required.

Finishing options: Stainless steel grinding and cleaning.
  • Welding (TIG – Tungsten Inert Gas) : In TIG, a non-consumable tungsten electrode is used to create the electric arc. An inert gas, usually argon, is used as the shielding gas. TIG is widely used for high-quality welds in applications such as aerospace, chemical manufacturing, tank construction and other fields where precision and weld quality are paramount. It is also suitable for fine metals such as aluminum and stainless steel.
Finishing options: Polishing and electrolytic cleaning of stainless steel.
Each welding method has its own properties and is suitable for particular applications. The choice of method depends on various factors, such as material, part thickness, required precision, series production, etc.
